I built Wildlife Connect so that caring about an animal and doing something about it are the same short step. Here is what we are for, and how it works.
Our mission is to make wildlife conservation more accessible by helping people learn about wildlife and the challenges facing animals around the world, discover trusted sanctuaries, rescues, rehabilitation centers, and conservation organizations, and turn that connection into action.
By making these organizations easier to discover and support, Wildlife Connect helps mobilize a global community of animal lovers, and direct more awareness, engagement, and funding to the organizations that need it most.
A profile for every species covering what it is, where it lives, what threatens it, and its status on the IUCN Red List. Written to be read by someone with no background in conservation, sourced so it can be checked.
Getting money to the organizations doing the work, without a middleman taking a share. We list where an organization operates, the species it protects, and how to give directly. Donations go to them, not to us.
The capybara is listed as Least Concern and draws over a million searches a month in the United States alone. The Javan, Sumatran, and black rhinoceros together draw about 7,400. Attention does not follow need, and funding follows attention.
The organizations doing the work are usually small, often remote, and rarely visible in a search. Someone who decides to help an animal today runs into a wall of advertising and no reliable way to tell a genuine sanctuary from a business using the word. That is a findability problem, and it is solvable.
So we built a directory. Every organization is listed with where it works, the species it protects, and how you can actually help. Organizations claim and verify their own pages. Nothing is pay to play.

Isaac Rabkin is a 16-year-old social entrepreneur from Silicon Valley and the founder of Wildlife Connect.
A lifelong animal lover, Isaac has visited wildlife sanctuaries and conservation organizations through his travels around the world. Those experiences gave him an early appreciation for the people doing hands-on work to protect animals, and for how difficult it can be for many organizations to get the visibility, funding, and support they need.
Isaac started Wildlife Connect as his Bar Mitzvah project with a simple idea: make it easier for people who care about animals to find and support the organizations making a difference. What began as a service project has since grown into a much larger vision for connecting animal lovers with wildlife organizations around the world.
Entrepreneurship started even earlier for Isaac. In second grade, he launched his first business, The Caramel Kid, selling handcrafted caramel grams. While his ambitions have evolved considerably since then, the instinct behind them has remained remarkably consistent: find something he cares about, build something around it, and use it to make an impact.
If you want to help an animal, start with the species. If you run a conservation organization, your page is free and always will be.
