Rescuing and raising orphaned elephants for return to the wild.
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust runs one of the most successful orphaned elephant rescue and rehabilitation programs in the world. Orphans, often victims of poaching or drought, are hand-raised at its Nairobi nursery and reintegrated into wild herds over many years.
Beyond its elephants, the Trust operates anti-poaching teams, mobile veterinary units, and habitat protection across Kenya’s national parks.
