Protection is our passion
The Big Cat Sanctuary is a globally recognised centre dedicated to the conservation and rescue of wild cats, set in Smarden in the heart of the Kent countryside. The Sanctuary contributes to accredited global breeding programs, collaborates with conservation partners to improve animal welfare worldwide, and undertakes rescue operations, including rescuing five lions from war-torn Ukraine between 2024 and 2025.
The Sanctuary operates across five pillars: Welfare, Breeding, Education, Conservation, and Rescue. It offers unique visitor experiences including overnight lodge stays, big cat encounters, afternoon teas, photography workshops, ranger days, and educational tours, and is only open for private pre-booked experiences.
